VS Staff Presenting at 2022 MJBizCon Cannabis Business Conference

Now in its 11th year, MJBizCon is the #1 global cannabis business conference and tradeshow. The award-winning show is held from November 15 through 18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and showcases over 1,400 exhibitors, pre-show forums, and 140 speakers including appearances from several VS attorneys and distinguished staff.

VS’s participation at MJBizCon begins bright and early with Shawn Hauser's session MJBiz Hemp and CBD Forum – Intoxicating Hemp-Derived Products: The Delta-8 and Delta-9 Opportunities, Risks, Regulations and the Road Ahead at 10:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday, November 15.

When hemp was legalized nearly four years ago, the FDA drug their feet developing regulations for finished hemp products. Today, because of the lack of regulation, hemp-derived products with high levels of intoxicating cannabinoids (i.e. Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC) are becoming increasingly popular in consumer markets. The problem? These intoxicating hemp products were not intended to be legalized. This has opened a door to many opportunities, risks and “regulation” navigation state by state. This panel will dive deep into the polarizing topic of intoxicating hemp-derived products, what regulators are doing, the risks operators face dabbling in this space and what the future holds.

But tread lightly as taking on too much, too quick could have catastrophic effects on your business and its future. Cannabis operators looking at debt financing need to have a clear understanding of their current operations and have a realistic outlook for their growth potential. This session will provide operators with the tools and advice needed to ensure successful, sustainable growth.

Cannabis has entered the Metaverse and the chatter of this alternative digital reality may have you invigorated and/or lost in ‘space’.  Taking your brand to the Metaverse and the world of Web 3.0 can be beneficial.  It provides new opportunities to expand brand awareness, product development and raise capital.  However, there are also plenty of obstacles along with regulations and guardrails you need to be privy to as you enter the metaverse.  This session will educate current operators on how they can be part of digital reality, big or small, and for the operators currently dabbling in this realm this session will provide insights into the future of the Metaverse.
