Vicente Sederberg LLP Receives Beacon of Light Award from Black Cannabis Equity Initiative

Vicente Sederberg LLP is honored to receive the Black Cannabis Equity Initiative’s Beacon of Light Award for "leading the way” on social equity issues in Colorado’s cannabis industry.

VS is committed to promoting social equity in the cannabis industry and repairing the damage caused by cannabis prohibition, and we greatly appreciate the opportunity to partner with BCEI toward these shared goals. Despite the many challenges that arose in 2020, we were able to work together to advance equity and justice through thoughtful policy solutions, advocacy, and pro bono legal services. We look forward to continuing this work and our partnership with BCEI to bring about a more diverse and inclusive industry and a more equitable Colorado.

BCEI is a community-driven initiative of concerned Black citizens and business leaders focusing on equity, diversity and inclusion opportunities in the Colorado cannabis industry. It was founded in 2019 to promote progressive sustainable dialogue, community engagement, and action around fairness and opportunity in the statewide cannabis landscape.

BCEI develops programs that provide a bridge between the Black community and the cannabis industry, including monthly networking sessions, a cannabis business accountability report card, community advisory groups, expungement clinics and more.
