Vicente LLP’s Samantha Fow Joins Gaia Gossip Podcast to Discuss Indigenous Cannabis and Hemp Policy

Jul 23, 2025

On Wednesday, July 24, 2025, Gaia Gossip will feature Vicente LLP marketing manager Samantha Fow in a conversation exploring the environmental, cultural, and economic impact of cannabis and hemp advocacy within Indigenous communities.

About the Gaia Gossip Podcast

Hosted by Mary Jane Oatman, Gaia Gossip is a monthly podcast produced by the Her Many Voices Foundation that highlights Indigenous-led climate solutions and community-driven sustainability efforts.

In this episode, Mary Jane and Samantha will discuss a range of topics, including the role of data in shaping sustainable cannabis and hemp policy, strategies for addressing stigma in Indigenous communities, and the long-term benefits of hemp cultivation for environmental stewardship and economic development. Together they’ll unpack why organizations like Vicente LLP, the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association (ICIA) and Her Many Voices Foundation are committed to centering Indigenous voices as a driving force for meaningful environmental change, not an afterthought.

Elevating Indigenous Voices in Cannabis and Hemp Policy

Samantha will represent Vicente LLP in sharing insights on the firm’s collaborative work with organizations such as ICIA, with a focus on the Tribal Cannabis and Hemp Programs Map, a first-of-its-kind map highlighting 56 Tribal cannabis and hemp initiatives across the United States. The conversation will explore how education, technology, and legal frameworks can support Indigenous leadership in environmental and economic policy reform.

Vicente LLP works closely with tribal governments, Indigenous leaders, and advocacy organizations to support the development of sovereign cannabis and hemp programs. From navigating complex regulatory landscapes to advancing tribal self-determination through policy, the firm’s approach is rooted in respect, collaboration, and long-term impact. Through legal services, education, and coalition-building, Vicente LLP aims to help create pathways for Indigenous communities to lead in shaping the future of the cannabis and hemp industries.
