Sally Kent Peebles Appears on Fox 35 Orlando News to Discuss Florida Medical Cannabis Law

Mar 29, 2021

Florida residents voted to legalize medical cannabis in 2016, but the gray area surrounding medical cannabis use and employment has resulted in several Floridians losing their jobs. VS partner Sally Kent Peebles appeared on the investigative news story on March 26.

"Florida legalized medical marijuana use for card-carrying patients, but it didn’t force private employers or public employers to allow for the consumption on-site or allow their employees to use. There’s a bit of a disconnect there," said Sally Kent Peebles, an attorney on the state’s Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee

State lawmakers are looking to clear up the confusion with a bill that would create job protections for public employees using medical marijuana.
