[Webinar] Minnesota Cannabis Business Licensing Opportunities and Updates to the Regulated Program

May 30, 2024

Minnesota legalized adult-use cannabis nearly a year ago, and since then regulators and legislators have been working on legislation and rulemaking to launch the adult-use market. A newly enacted cannabis policy bill, termed the “OCM Bill,” provides new details on the forthcoming program, and, along with the Office of Cannabis Management’s accelerated plans to award adult-use licenses this summer, provides interested entrepreneurs the potential to thrive in Minnesota’s cannabis industry.

Watch this recorded session for an update on the implementation of the North Star State’s cannabis market. Featured will be VLLP’s very own Jason Tarasek, who has been deeply involved in the legislative process and was instrumental in ensuring the inclusion of early-start cultivation for social-equity cultivators in the newly approved legislation.

During the session, members of Vicente’s Minnesota team will discuss the process so far, dive into key updates from the newly adopted legislation, examine upcoming licensing opportunities, and offer best practices for preparing to enter or expand into this market.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Changes to MN’s cannabis program under the new legislation
  • Overview of the upcoming lottery licensing process for social equity applicants
  • Early-start cultivation opportunities for license lottery winners
  • Updates to social-equity criteria
  • New limitations on certain license types
  • Best practices for preparing to enter or expand into this market
