Jerrico Perez Will Discuss the Current Legal Cannabis Landscape at PLI’s Cannabis Legal and Business Fundamentals 2024 Event

On April 4, 2024, the Practising Law Institute (PLI) will host their CLE program, “Cannabis: Legal and Business Fundamentals 2024” which will take place online and in-person in San Francisco, California. Vicente LLP partner Jerrico Perez is slated to speak on the panel, “The Current Legal Cannabis Landscape: An Overview and Comparative Study,” at 9:15 a.m. PT.
After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Compare key states with regulated cannabis markets: understand their legalization process, licensing structure, and regulatory regimes.
- Understand the status and success of equity licensing programs across the United States.
- Analyze an overview of federal tax issues for cannabis companies (280E) and what it looks like at the state level.
- Understand the advantages and obstacles for multi-state operators v “mom and pops” and play a round of “who does this state serve?”

About Jerrico Perez
Jerrico Perez is a partner at Vicente LLP, where she focuses her practice on administrative law, regulatory compliance, and national marijuana business applications.
