VS attorneys Shawn Hauser, Kim Napoli, Marc Ross and Christian Sederberg will participate in the Cannalaw Summit on May 3-5, 2022. The 2nd Annual Cannalaw Summit will bring together diverse perspectives from boutiques to big law, in-house counsel, and subject matter experts from across the international cannabis supply chain. Together, they will provide critical insight into current and future laws and regulations, address critical individual cannabis practice and client advisory challenges, and examine core considerations and opportunities as the legal cannabis marketplace continues to evolve.

    • This opening discussion asks what is next for current and future legalization efforts, the renewed push on Capitol Hill, emerging international and interstate market opportunities, and the continued environmental, social, and governance obligations as the legal cannabis ecosystem continues to evolve at a rapid pace.

  • ESG x Cannabis: The Opportunities and the Obligations - moderated by VS's head of impact & ESG, Marc Ross

    • Environment, Social & Governance (“ESG”) has been a developing area of law over the past several years. The strategic engagement of internal and external stakeholders and the measurement and reporting of ESG metrics has become a business imperative and regulatory requirement for the operation of cannabis businesses. In this discussion, we will hear from experts from within and outside of the cannabis industry on these growing trends, how companies have successfully captured and reported ESG metrics, and gain guidance on getting started.

  • Social Equity in Cannabis Law - featuring VS's director of diversity, equity & inclusion Kim Napoli

    • This session will examine the need for true social equity within the cannabis industry, the changes that must occur to achieve this, the roles legal advisors must play in addressing equity issues, and how you must communicate your intent, actions, and successes.
