Cannabis Financing 101 at Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference with Charles Alovisetti

On October 8, Vicente partner Charles Alovisetti spoke on the panel Cannabis Financing 101: Understanding Loans, Investments, and Cash Flow, To Keep Your Business Running during the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago.

During his presentation, Alovisetti discussed debt, equity and liquidity strategies and considerations for cannabis startups seeking funding. He highlighted the need for borrowers to be aware of hidden costs associated with debt financing, such as fees, original issue discounts, and monitoring fees, and warned, "You have to make sure you understand what the effective interest rate is when you add in all the fees."

Additionally, he stressed the potential consequences of violating loan covenants, particularly those related to tax payments.
