ABA Global Business of Cannabis Conference is Coming to Denver
Nov 9, 2021
The American Bar Association's International Law Section will host its first annual Global Business of Cannabis Conference in Denver, Colorado from November 10-12, 2021.
VS counsel and Head of Impact & ESG, Marc Ross, is slated to join the panel "The Environmental Impact of Cannabis Cultivation: Does Legalization Make a Difference?" on Friday, November 12 at 11 a.m.
About the Session
This panel explores the environmental impacts of cannabis cultivation. Data shows regulated cultivation — indoor and outdoor — is contributing to environmental degradation by increasing pressure on water and electrical sources and generating new waste-disposal issues. The panel addresses current regulations and how enhanced regulation and technological innovation can mitigate environmental impacts caused by marijuana cultivation, and how CSR and ESG can play an important role in promoting the status of cannabis companies as responsible community citizens.
