Vicente Sederberg LLP Strengthens NJ, NY Operations with Addition of Land Use and Real Estate Attorney Heather Kumer

CRANFORD, N.J. — Leading national cannabis law firm Vicente Sederberg LLP announced Tuesday that Heather Kumer has joined the firm as counsel in its New Jersey office.

Kumer comes to VS from Prime and Tuvel LLC, where she was a partner. Previously, she was an associate attorney in the Jersey City office of Connell Foley LLP, a top-ranked New Jersey law firm, where she was designated Special Conflict Counsel for the Planning Board of Princeton and developed a medical cannabis policy for a major New Jersey Hospital. In 2020, she was named a Rising Star in land use by New Jersey Super Lawyers.

Prior to entering the private sector, Kumer served as in-house counsel and sustainability coordinator for the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, where she represented the agency in redevelopment projects; coordinated and implemented the agency's citywide sustainability and resiliency efforts; and secured and implemented federal, state, county, and private grants.

“Heather brings a wealth of valuable public and private sector experience to our rapidly expanding practice in New Jersey and New York,” said VS partner Adam Fine. “Her depth of knowledge in the areas of land use, real estate, and sustainability will help our clients find their place in the adult-use cannabis programs currently being implemented across the tri-state region.”

Kumer is a LEED certified professional in building design and construction. She received her J.D. with a Certificate in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
