Best Lawyers® Recognizes 14 Attorneys From Vicente Sederberg LLP
BOSTON, DENVER, JACKSONVILLE, LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK — Fourteen attorneys from national cannabis law firm Vicente Sederberg LLP (VS) were recognized this week by Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. Lawyers on The Best Lawyers in America list are divided by geographic region and practice areas. They are reviewed by their peers based on professional expertise and undergo an authentication process to make sure they are in current practice and in good standing.
VS’s Denver-based partners Brian Vicente and Christian Sederberg were selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2023 for their work in the field of Corporate Law for the third year in a row. Both were also selected for their work in Cannabis Law and Government Relations Practice. Boston-based partner Phil Silverman was selected once again in the field of Land Use and Zoning Law.
Several VS attorneys were recognized for the first time in The Best Lawyers in America list, including counsel Jennifer Cabrera for her work in Cannabis Law in New York; partner Shawn Hauser, founding partner Joshua Kappel, and counsel James Nechleba for the field of Cannabis Law in Denver; and Florida-based partner Sally Kent Peebles for her work in Real Estate Law.
Six additional VS attorneys were included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, which recognizes associates and other lawyers who are earlier in their careers for their outstanding professional excellence in private practice. For the third year in a row, Boston-based counsel David Ullian was recognized for his work in Land Use and Zoning Law and Administrative/Regulatory Law, and Denver-based partner Jerrico Perez was recognized for the second year in a row for her work in Administrative/Regulatory Law. New York-based counsel Shane Pennington was recognized once again for his Appellate Practice.
First-time Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch selectees included Los Angeles-based partner Sahar Ayinehsazian and of counsel Jeffrey Welsh for their work in Corporate Law and Entertainment and Sports Law, respectively. Denver-based senior associate Yolanda Clarke was listed in the field of Administrative/Regulatory Law
Best Lawyers lists are based on an exhaustive peer-review evaluation, which included an analysis of more than 12.2 million votes in 2022. The publication started in 1983 and has become universally regarded as a definitive guide to legal excellence. Inclusion is considered a singular honor because attorneys are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed.
“As the cannabis industry and research into psychedelics and other emerging therapies continue to expand, there is a growing need for counsel who specialize in these areas and have the ability to integrate them with other fields of law,” Vicente said. “We are extremely proud to see a growing number of our attorneys recognized by Best Lawyers across several different practice areas. We are grateful to be included in this prestigious publication, and we thank the many legal professionals who nominated and supported us throughout this process.”
