Overview

Andrea Golan serves as counsel in Vicente LLP’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the firm’s Regulatory Compliance and Hemp and Cannabinoids Departments. She represents and advises hemp cannabinoid and plant medicine clients operating in the food, dietary supplement, and cosmetic industries on a range of compliance matters, including FD&C, FDA, FTC, and USDA compliance, advertising and claim substantiation, influencer and social media marketing, sweepstakes and promotions, packaging and labeling, and strategic product category positioning.

Andrea also provides regulatory compliance counsel to companies operating in the cannabis space, including licensed entities, unlicensed brands, tech platforms, state and local governments, and a wide variety of businesses ancillary to cannabis.

Andrea is a member of the American Herbal Products Association Cannabis and Government Relations Committees, the National Cannabis Industry Association State Regulations Committee, and the California Cannabis Industry Association Supply Chain Committee.

Prior to joining Vicente LLP, Andrea was an associate attorney at a national insurance defense firm, where her practice focused on commercial and business litigation, public entity defense, catastrophic injury, and medical malpractice.

Andrea graduated magna cum laude from Whittier Law School, where she served as research editor of the Whittier Law Review. Prior to law school, Andrea worked in customs and regulatory compliance, where she handled sourcing, manufacturing, laboratory testing, packaging, labeling, customs compliance, and factory audits and inspections. Andrea also worked as a congressional liaison officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, where she served as a liaison to Members of Congress and their congressional staffers to ensure they were informed of FEMA policies and programs, in addition to assisting individuals and communities with disaster recovery.
