Trump Orders Federal Cannabis Rescheduling to Schedule III

On Thursday, December 18, President Donald Trump directed federal agencies to begin the process of reclassifying marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act. The directive initiates a formal rulemaking process that could affect taxation, enforcement priorities, medical research, banking access, and the hemp and cannabinoid marketplace nationwide.
