Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission Launches Social Equity Certification Portal In Advance of Retail License Application Period

The Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) has announced the launch of the Social Equity Applicant Status Certification (SEASC) process, marking an important milestone in the rollout of the Ocean State’s adult-use cannabis program. The SEASC application Portal is now live and will remain open through Monday, September 29, 2025.
The SEASC process, developed in partnership with Creative Services, Inc. (CSI), offers applicants a secure and user-friendly platform to verify eligibility, upload documentation, and receive support. By creating a streamlined SEASC certification process, the CCC is taking a significant step toward achieving its goal of ensuring equitable access to Rhode Island’s evolving cannabis market.
How to Apply
To apply for Social Equity Applicant Status, individuals and entities must complete the following steps:

Submit the CCC Interest Form by Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The Interest Form is available on the CCC’s website.

Once submitted, applicants will receive a personalized link from CSI to access the SEASC Portal.

Complete and submit the certification application through the SEASC Portal no later than Monday, September 29, 2025.

September 24, 2025 (11:59 p.m. Eastern): Interest Form submission period closes

Applicants who submit an Interest Form by this deadline will still have until September 29th to complete their SEASC application through the Portal.
